Specialized Services

A program for children up to 14 years.

Overview

Pacekids is a qualified provider of Specialized Services funded through Calgary Child and Family Services. Children must qualify for these services and have a contract with Family Services for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) to obtain these services. The family must get approval from the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for therapeutic services.

Purpose of Program

This program provides a one-to-one aide (developmental/behavioural) who works with the child in the home or in the community. Each child is assessed in the areas of behaviour, communication, social interactions, cognition, motor development, mobility and functional living skills. A Coordinated Service Plan (CSP) is created in conjunction with the parents and the therapy team to focus on therapeutic goals.
The Pacekids team includes the clinical coordinator, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language pathologist, psychologist and a one-to-one developmental/behavioural aide.
